May 11, 2009 (Part 3); Big Baby hits it; ties series for Celtics
The Celtics aren't giving up their championship that easily, with Lady Luck on their side today.
The game was close for almost the entirety of the game, most especially during the final 5 minutes of the fourth quarter, with shots from both ends going in. Crucial free-throws were made. But, it was during the final seconds that made the difference.
Glen Davis received the pass from Paul Pierce, he stopped, he popped, and sunk in a 21-footer buzzer beater from the left wing, which won the game for the Celtics, 95-94, to even up the series at 2 games a piece.
Paul Pierce led the way for the defending champs with 27 points and 4 assists. "Big Baby" finished the game with 21 points and 6 rebounds. Rajon Rondo also had 21 points, with 14 rebounds and 3 assists. Kendrick Perkins and Ray Allen both scored 12 points for the Celtics, with Perkins adding 13 boards, while Allen had 5 rebounds and 4 assists.
The Magic meanwhile were led by Dwight Howard with 23 points and 17 rebounds, along with 2 assists. Rashard Lewis had 22 points and 5 rebounds, while Hedo Turkoglu and Mickael Pietrus both had 11 markers, with Turkoglu also having 3 boards and 4 assists, while Pietrus managed to have 3 boards and 1 assist off the bench.
Game 5 of this series will be played on Wednesday, May 13 at 8:00 AM from Boston.
