May 8, 2009 (Part 2); Alston, Fisher suspended; PBA results!

The NBA has confirmed that Orlando Magic's Rafer Alston and Los Angeles Lakers' guard Derek Fisher will be suspended for one game for separate incidents in both of their playoff games.

Rafer Alston slapped Boston's Eddie House at the back of his head, while Derek Fisher was called for a flagrant foul when he struck Houston's Luis Scola, who was then setting a pick, with his shoulder and head as the Rockets brought the ball up the court. He was then ejected from the game.

The announcement was made by NBA's executive vice-president on basketball operations Stu Jackson.

Due to that one game suspension, both Alston and Fisher won't be available for Game 3 tomorrow for their respective teams, the Magic and the Lakers.

The Magic will be thin in their backcourt, as they also have Courtney Lee on the sidelines nursing an injury. The Lakers on the other hand will rely on Sasha Vujucic to take over Fisher's place alongside Kobe Bryant in the backcourt.
