February 27, 2009; No Class/Rest Day! :)
Finally, a day wherein I had the time to rest, a thing which was not that much granted to be these past couple of weeks, due to a very tight schedule. School is off the charts these past few days because it's the final stretch! It's the Finals! So, more things are needed to be accomplished before the semester ends.
Believe me guys when I say this, hard work will pay off! It's better to work your ass off today rather than to suffer the consequences tomorrow :) Let's us go full throttle guys! Trust me, the rewards will be a handful! :)
And now, without further ado, here are the latest from the world of sports!
First up, from the NBA!
LeBron James was held to just 21 points and the entire Cavalier team shot a dismal 33 percent shooting from the field as they go on to lose against the Houston Rockets, 93-74. It's the Rockets' ninth consecutive win at home and its sixth straight overall. Even with the loss, the Cavs still leads the East with its 44-12 record, just sixth thousandths percentage points above the 46-13 record of the 2nd place Boston Celtics. Yao Ming led the way for the Rockets with 28 points and 8 rebounds.
Cleveland 74 (44-12)
Houston 93 (37-21)
CLE: Maurice Williams- 21 pts, 4 rebs, 4 assts, 2 stls.
HOU: Yao Ming- 28 pts, 8 rebs.
And on the second game of a doubleheader, the Los Angeles Lakers made easy pickings against the short-handed Phoenix Suns at the STAPLES Center, 132-106. Steve Nash and Amar`e Stoudemire are not suited for the Suns due to injuries (Nash with a sprained right ankle and Stoudemire had an eye surgery to fix his retina). Its the Lakers' sixth straight win. The Lakers were led by Lamar Odom with 23 markers and 9 boards, while reigning MVP Kobe Bryant pitched in 22 points and 8 dishes. Leandro Barbosa, who started as the point guard, led the Suns with 18 points and 7 assists. Five other Sun players scored in double figures.
Phoenix 106 (32-25)
LA Lakers 132 (47-10)
PHX: Leandro Barbosa- 18 pts, 6 rebs, 7 assts, 1 stl.
LAL: Lamar Odom- 23 pts, 9 rebs, 4 assts.
And now, let's move to the local scene as we focus on the PBA!
Tomorrow afternoon will be the start of the second conference of the 34th season of the PBA, named the 2009 Motolite PBA Fiesta Conference, wherein teams are backed up once again with imports, but now, with the height limit policy. An import should just stand at a maximum of 6'6". Last year's Fiesta Conference saw a no-height limit poilicy, so teams had imports even as high as 7'1", as in the case of Chris Alexander from the Brgy. Ginebra, who won the Best Import honors.
The Sta. Lucia Realtors, with import Anthony Johnson, will face the Burger King Titans, formerly known as the Air21 Express, with Shawn Daniels to back them up at the Lamberto Macias Sports Complex at Dumaguete City. It will be shown LIVE on C/S 9 nationwide.
So there you have it! You guys have just been fed!
It's a Friday night, so for all you fellas and ladies who are going out, buckle up and be safe ayt? :) Have fun you guys!
God bless you guys! Stay safe! Peace out! Have a happy weekend! The Wizard was here... :)
