July 15, 2010 (Part 2); NU shuts down De La Salle twice in a row!

The National University Bulldogs shocked the De La Salle Green Archers, 59-55, in their 73rd UAAP Seniors match-up at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

The big difference of the ballgame was their 6'7" rookie sensation Emmanuel "Imba" Mbe, who scored 21 huge markers on 50% shooting (8/16) from the field, along with a superb 19 rebounds.

The Archers were inferior to the Bulldogs, showing their inexperience in the court. It was remembered that the Bulldogs defeated the Archers in the final day of elimination during the 72nd season, to eliminate any chance of the Archers of entering the Final Four.

Offensive rebounding, steals, and assists won the ballgame for the Bulldogs as an all-around effort from Mbe, and veterans Kokoy Hermosisima, Melvin Baloran, and Jewel Ponferrada were shown, proving that the new system implemented by rookie coach Eric Gonzales was working for the M.F. Jhocson-based squad.

Joshua Webb, Ferdinand, Simon Atkins and the rest of the Archers had a bad day as they missed field goal after field goal after field goal.

Yutien Andrada tried to rally De La Salle back into the game, but was too late, as the Bulldogs scored baskets on the stretch to prevent a meltdown.

The Bulldogs and the Archers are now tied with the Falcons and Eagles with a 1-1 win-loss record.

So there you have it! You guys have just been fed!

God bless you guys! Stay safe! Peace out! The Wizard was here...:)

Comments, questions and suggestions are highly appreciated! :)
