April 2, 2010 (Part 1); Orlando prevails against Dallas in the batlle of the 2nd best!
The number 2 seeds for both conferences battled today, as the Orlando Magic faced the Dallas Mavericks from the AmericanAirlines Center in downtown Dallas, Texas.
Players wore something green today in recognition of the NBA's "Guard the Planet" night, but for the Orlando Magic, it was the "Guard the Dallas Mavericks" night.
Nobody from the Mavs could stop Dwight Howard's 17 points (and his 20 rebounds, plus his 5 blocks), even Vince Carter's 19 points, not even Jameer Nelson's 14 points.
But what's most surprising was the bench scoring, especially Mickael Pietrus, who scored the team high 24 points, on 7 out of 8 shooting.
But even with the loss, the Mavericks still has something to cheer on. Last night's victory against Memphis marked their 50th win of the season, making history by having 10-straight 50-win seasons. Congratulations to you guys!
Orlando stayed 2nd in the East, while Dallas still sits 2nd in the West, behind the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Los Angeles Lakers, respectively.
Orlando 96 (53-22)
