April 1, 2010 (Part 2); Wizards secures first win in a month, beats Hornets
Finally, the Washington Wizards got over a Mt. Everest-type of hump.
Their 16-game losing streak was over as they defeated the New Orleans Hornets, 96-91, from the New Orleans Arena.
Mike Miller exploded for 27 points for the Wizards, while big man Andray Blatche scored 23 points, making his presence known.
Newly acquired Shaun Livingston meanwhile scored 18 points for them, who are now with 22 wins against 52 defeats.
David West led the opposition with 18 points along with 5 rebounds. Marcus Thorton had 15 points, Darren Collison had 14, Aaron Gray had 12, Darius Songaila had 10, while team captain Chris Paul only had eight points.
This marked Washington's first victory after a month. The last time they earned a W was against New Jersey on February 28th, after which, they lost 16 straight, almost losing all their games for the month of March.
With that being said, "March Madness" is over for the Wizards.
