March 22, 2010 (Part 3); Lakers hands Wizards 11th straight loss, and more!

The Washington Wizards suffered their 11th straight defeat at the expense of the team which has the best record in the Western Conference, the Los Angeles Lakers, via a 99-92 scoreline.

The first three quarters showed the Lakers' dominance on offense and defense, even leading by more than 20 points.

But just when you thought the game was over, something made it special.

The Wizards, a team without a single superstar on their lineup right now, relied on Andray Blatche, Nick Young and Al Thornton to boost their chances. But it wasn't enough as Pau Gasol proved too much for the Wizards frontcourt.

Even the loss of Andrew Bynum to injury never prevented the Lakers to execute their run and gun offense against the hapless Wizards, who are now on a 11 game slump, with 21 wins and 47 losses overall.

Pau Gasol led the Lakers with 26 points and 12 rebounds, while Kobe Bryant had 24 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists.

The Wizards on the other hand, were led by Nick Young with 22 points. Al Thornton chipped in with 18 markers and 3 assists, while Blatche had 16 points and 12 rebounds.

March 11, 2010 (Part 1); The richest of the rich!

Good evening guys!

Upon surfing the net, I saw this news, and I thought of sharing it to each and everyone of you :)

And it's all about one of the basic necessities of life, MONEY! :))

For the third time in three years, we have a new richest man in the world!

And his name is Carlos Slim Helu. He is the Manny Pangilinan of Mexico since he owns the telephone company down there.

His net worth is now at an astonishing $53.5 billion. He came in third place last year.

Ranking second this year is the most perennial name on the list, American Bill Gates, who, as we all know, the owner of software company, Microsoft.

His net worth is now at $53 billion, half a billion short of Mr. Slim's money in the bank.

Third in the list is American Warren Buffett, CEO of Burkshire Hathaway investment company, who has a net worth of $47 billion. He also has investments in General Electric, Goldman Sachs, Geico (insurance), Dairy Queen, MidAmerican Energy and BYD.

The top three alone would have a cumulative net worth of around $150 billion! Whew, that's a royalty if it would be converted to Philippine peso! Ika nga, bayad na ang utang ng lahat ng Pilipino! Haha!

March 9, 2010 (Part 2); Noynoy, Villar to close to call

The latest Social Weather Station (SWS) survey showed Senators Benigno Simeon "Noynoy" Aquino III and Manuel Villar, Jr. statistically tied, since their margin went inside the +-2.2 percent of error.

Aquino got 36% while Villar got 34%. Noynoy declined by 6 percent compared to his January result of 42%, while Manny went down by one, from 35% last January.

The survey was done last February 24-28, 2010, during which Villar was all over our television screens and radios with his campaign jingle and video.

Here is the rundown of the survey done by SWS!

AQUINO, Benigno III- 36%
VILLAR, Manuel Jr.- 34%
ESTRADA, Joseph- 16%
TEODORO, Gilberto Jr.- 6%
VILLANUEVA, Eddie- 3%
GORDON, Richard- 2%
ACOSTA, Vetellano- 0.4%
PERLAS, Nicanor- 0.2%
MADRIGAL, Jamby- 0.1%
DE LOS REYES, JC- 0.1%

What can you say about the results? Does a survey spell a big difference on a candidate's chances of winning in the upcoming elections?

So there you have it! You guys have just been fed! :)

March 9, 2010 (Part 1); PBA trade rumors!

In the past few days, news are circulating around the league, and the trade is the utmost issue. This is another way for those players who aren't being utilized that much to reinvent themselves and make a brand new start.

Trades are so important for teams who would like to improve their performance from last conference, and for them to have a balanced lineup. Remember, the reinforcements a.k.a. the imports are coming for this conference!

Here are the players who are, according to rumors, headed to another team for the Fiesta Cup, which will start on March 21st!

Air 21- Ren Ren Ritualo (from Talk 'N Text), Doug Kramer and Rich Alvarez (from Ginebra) and Mike Cortez (from San Miguel)

San Miguel- Alex Cabagnot (from Air 21)

Ginebra- Yancy De Ocampo (from Talk 'N Text) and the return of the H-Bomb, Rudy Hatfield!

Talk 'N Text- Aaron Aban, Mark Yee and J.R. Quinahan (from Air 21)

Another rumor swirling around is a change of team name! The team once known as Purefoods, will, according to some reports will be named Derby Ace!

What are your reactions to these changes guys?

Or do have any more suggestions on whom to be traded? Let's all talk about it! :)
