February 27, 2010 (Part 1); Just because of a single free-throw...

Just when you thought you saved the game.

Joe Devance made 1 out of his 2 free throw shots to tie the ball game at 85, with around 5 seconds left in the ballgame. When all of a sudden, Kerby Raymundo, fakes a shot, with De Vance biting to it, earns a trip to the charity stripe due to the foul called on Devance.

Alaska's coaching staff led by head coach Earl Timothy "Tim" Cone, along with team manager Joaqui Trillo, were all in disbelief after the foul was called, saying that the referee should have just let the game going, but via the instant replay, most, if not all people, would agree that in deed, Devance made contact with Raymundo via the fake, ergo the foul being called.

Kerby made the 1st free throw and misses the 2nd, thus ending the game right for them via a 86-85 win against the Aces.

The Giants now lead the series 2 games to none.

James Yap was named the Best Player of the Game with a new conference-high of 32 points on 4 out of 6 from rainbow territory.

Game 3 will be held tomorrow night, still from the Araneta Coliseum. Could Alaska make a comeback? Or will Purefoods take the commanding 3-0 series lead? Let's all find out on the last day of the month!
