February 22, 2010 (Part 1); Purefoods arranges final showdown with Alaska

Yesterday night, the Purefoods TJ Giants took the insurmountable win against the San Miguel Beermen, 87-78, to bag the semifinal series in six games. They will be facing the Alaska Aces for the KFC-PBA Philippine Cup championship starting on Wednesday.

The Aces are the early favorites after their 4-0 sweep of the Brgy. Ginebra Kings in their semifinal showdown.

The Beermen and the Kings on the other hand, will face each other at 5:00 PM Wednesday, and the winner will be proclaimed as the 3rd place finishers of the competition.

This morning, at the press conference held at the Pavilion of the Araneta Coliseum, PBA commissioner Renauld "Sonny" Barrios happily announced that each and every game of the Finals showdown between the Aces and the Giants will be staged at the mecca of Philippine sports and entertainment.
