February 18, 2010 (Part 2); Jamison to the Cavs, Ilgauskas to the Wizards, and more!

In a sudden turn of events, the Cleveland Cavaliers has agreed to trade their premier center, the only remaining Cavalier from the 90's, Zydrunas Ilgauskas, to the Washington Wizards in exchange for power forward Antawn Jamison.

The Wizards also received the rights for Emir Preldzic and a 2010 first-round draft pick.

This is a part of the 3-team trade that happened early this day, also involving the Wizards giving up recently acquired center Drew Gooden to the LA Clippers, while the Clippers gave up guard Sebastian Telfair and forward Al Thornton to the Cavaliers and the Wizards, respectively.

The trade would benefit Cleveland the most since it could now solidify it's frontline with a solid and veteran power forward in Jamison, a former multiple-time All-Star, along with LeBron James and Shaquill O'Neal.

Things are indeed looking up for the Cavs as they hold the best record in the East with 43-11, and currently riding on a 13-game winning streak.

The Wizards, on the other hand, will receive a force in the paint in Ilgauskas, an All-Star back in 2003. He will be backed by the backcourt combo of Randy Foye and Mike Miller, recently acquired forward Josh Howard, and big men Andray Blatche, JaVale McGee and Fabricio Oberto.
