October 29, 2009 (Part 2); "New look" Magic team took care of business against Sixers

Dwight Howard finished the game with 21 points and 15 rebounds, while newly acquired Vince Carter debuted with 15 points as the new-look Orlando Magic overcame their first hurdle this season, the Philadelphia 76ers, with a 120-106 home win, in the season-opener for both teams.

Ryan Anderson scored 16 points, and Jason Williams, a pick-up from the free agent pool during the pre-season, added 15 points for the Magic, who showed no signs of a Finals hangover after losing their Finals series last season against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Marreese Speights led the Sixers with 26 points, while Elton Brand, made eight points on his first regular season game since missing most of the 2008-09 season with an injured right shoulder.

Tiger Woods, a central Florida resident, sat courtside, but didn't return in the second half as the Magic was already leading big during that time.

Philadelphia 106 (0-1)

Amway Arena, Orlando, Florida
PHI: Marreese Speights- 26 pts, 5 rebs, 2 stls.
ORL: Dwight Howard- 21 pts, 15 rebs, 2 assts, 1 stl.
