September 6, 2009 (Part 1); Falcons, Eagles prevail via blowouts
Here are the results from this afternoon's affair from the 72nd season of your UAAP, from the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan City!
1st Game
AdU 83 (4-9)
UST 64 (6-7)
AdU: Leo Canuday- 18 pts, 8 rebs, 1 stl, 1 blk.
UST: Clark Bautista- 14 pts, 1 reb, 1 asst, 1 stl.
2nd Game
UP 75 (3-10)
ADMU 93 (12-1)
UP: Martin Reyes- 21 pts, 5 rebs.
ADMU: Eric Salamat- 23 pts, 2 rebs, 5 assts, 2 stls.
With the win, the Eagles solidfied their hold on first place. But they still could be tied by the FEU Tamaraws, provided they could defeat them on Saturday when the top 2 teams meet.
Meanwhile, UST is still not secured of the 4th and final spot for the playoffs as they lose to the Falcons a while ago. They are just a game ahead of the DLSU Green Archers. All the Tigers need to do is to win against UE on Thursday to wrap it all up.
While for La Salle, they need to win their game against NU this Thursday and hope that UST loses to UE for them to have a playoff for the 4th and final spot for the playoffs.
And now, billiard news!
This just in! Efren "Bata" Reyes and Francisco "Django" Bustamante, representing the Philippines, defeated team Germany comprising of Thorsten "The Hitman" Hohmann and Ralf "The Kaiser" Souquet, 11-9, to bag the 2009 PartyCasino.net World Cup of Pool title, along with $60,000, or approximately P2,940,000.
The game was full of intense moments and surprises. There were great hits made, but great misses were also made. But at the end of the day, the crowd inside SM City North EDSA went wild for their heroes as they brought back the trophy to our country.
They even made history by winning the World Cup of Pool for the 2nd time, the first back in 2006. The Reyes/Bustamante connection is simply, the world's best. Congratulations!
So there you have it! You guys have just been fed!
God bless you guys! Stay safe! Peace out! The Wizard was here... :)
