September 4, 2009; Archers surpass Tigers; gains outside chance

Ladies and gentlemen, here are the results from yesterday's action from the 72nd season of your UAAP, from the mecca of Philippine sports and entertainment, the historic Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City!

1st Game
UE 81 (8-4)
UP 72 (3-9)
UE: Paul Lee- 21 pts, 3 rebs, 5 assts.
UP: Mark Lopez- 14 pts, 7 rebs, 5 assts, 1 stl.

2nd Game
DLSU 68 (5-7)
UST 64 (6-6)
DLSU: James Mangahas- 15 pts, 1 reb, 1 asst, 1 blk.
UST: Dylan Ababou: 19 pts, 6 rebs, 1 asst, 1 blk.

With the win, the UE Red Warriors secured one of the 4 spots for the Final Four team which will qualify for the playoffs, joining the Ateneo De Manila University and the Far Eastern University.

De La Salle, on the other hand, has an outside chance of making it to the Final Four by winning last night's game against UST. All the have to do is to win their final two assignments and hope that UST would drop their final two. But, if UST wins one game and La Salle loses a game, it would be over for the Green Archers.

And for head coach Franz Pumaren as well, as his record of not missing any postseason since stepping in as head coach for La Salle, would be broken.
