May 5, 2009; King James is MVP!

After 6 years in the league, LeBron James finally got the top individual award in the NBA.

It was announced this morning that he is this year's NBA Most Valuable Player, receiving the Maurice Podoloff trophy for the first time in his career at 24 years and 106 days old, making him the youngest player to take the award since Moses Malone (24 years, 16 days) in 1978-79. Wes Unseld is the youngest player in NBA history to bag the award, he was 23 years old when he received the award in 1968-69.

And what better place to receive the award than his alma mater, St. Vincent's- St. Mary's High School in Ohio. With matching police escorts and his Ferrari car, it was a grand entrance for the King.
With this award, he is sure to be part of the All-NBA First Team this season.

He received a total of 109 out of the possible 121 first-place votes, totalling to 1,172 points, easily outclassing last year's MVP Kobe Bryant, who tallied 698 points. Miami's Dwyane Wade finished third with 680 points. Orlando's Dwight Howard and New Orleans' Chris Paul finished fourth and fifth with 328 and 192 points respectively.
LeBron finished the regular season with 28.4 points per game, 7.6 rebounds per game, 7.2 assists per game and 1.7 steals per game.

And for all you boxing fans, here are the latest news.
Manny Pacquiao is regarded by some as a 5-division champion, but officially it's not. He is a six-division champion.
As we all know, Manny is a former WBC Flyweight, IBF Super Bantamweight, WBC Super Featherweight, WBC Lightweight, and the current IBO Light Welterweight Champ. But little do people know that he was the Ring Magazine's featherweight champ before, making him a six-division titleholder. He joins Oscar De La Hoya as the only boxers to hold a championship in six different weight divisions.
And talk about his next fight, it might come earlier than Christmas because according to the news, he will coming up to the squared circle come October.
But who will be his opponent? That is the big question. Whether it is Floyd Mayweather Jr., WBO Welterweight champ Miguel Cotto, WBA Welterweight champ "Sugar" Shane Mosley. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. or a third fight with Juan Manuel Marquez, that's a big possibility. And I think that everybody is beatable, especially in the eyes of the Pacman.
So there you have it! You guys have just been fed!
Hope you had a good Tuesday!
God bless you guys! Stay safe! Peace out! The Wizard was here... :)
Comments, questions and suggestions are highly appreciated! :)
