May 17, 2009 (Part 1); It's three in a row for Manchester United!

United entered the game last night needing just one point against Arsenal to secure their title retention.

And they did it.

Manchester United tied with Arsenal, 0-0, enough to grab the solitary point that they need to bag another Barclays Premier League title for a record-equalling 18th time, the other team being Liverpool.

And speaking of Liverpool, even though they win their two remaining fixtures, they cannot catch the 87 points of United. They now have 80 points, with games against West Bromwich Albion and Tottenham Hotspur.

Sir Alex Ferguson won his 11th Premier League crown as the manager of United, making him one of the most successful managers in Europe and maybe in the entire world. He has already won a hat trick of trophies this season, winning the Club World Cup back in 2008 and the Carling Cup earlier this year. They will try for an illustrious Quadruple as they face F.C. Barcelona of Spain in the final of the UEFA Champions League in Rome, Italy on May 28th at 2:45 AM Manila time.

But though the celebrations are still on-going for United, they will still play one more fixture in Premier League, against the Tigers of Hull City, from the Kingston Communications Stadium on May 24, Sunday at 11:00 PM Manila time.

It's been another great year for United, and I hope that they retain their Champions League trophy for the Quadruple!

And now, on other news, last night's out-of-town game between the Barangay Ginebra Kings and the Alaska Aces from Legazpi City was postponed due to a slippery floor. The game was stopped by the referees 41 seconds into the game with players slipping and sliding on both ends of the parquet floor. The players were asked to go back to their locker rooms while the technical staff, along with the local government officials trying to dry up the court.

And with almost two hours after, the players were called back to the floor to continue the play. But with players still falling one after the other, referee Boy Cruz ruled the court unplayable and stopped the game with 8:04 remaining in the 1st quarter with the Kings leading, 8-2.

There's no date set as to when the game will be continue. But keep it here for more of the updates you guys!

The Wizard was here...:)
