May 15, 2009 (Part 1); Magic forces Game 7 in Boston

The Boston Celtics will be a part of another playoff series clinching game. And indeed, the pressure is on them once again.

The defending champions crumbled at crunch time, forcing Orlando to even up their best-of-seven series at 3 a piece with a victory a while ago, 83-75, much to the delight of the Amway Arena fans.

Paul Pierce missed two crucial free throws down the stretch, which made the day for them. And capitalizing on that mistake, Hedo Turkoglu, who was cold throughout the game, placed the nail on the coffin as he hits a three-ball to seal the victory for the Magic, who has never reached the Eastern Conference Finals since 1996.

The Celtics will go to distance in its first two series for the second straight year.

Dwight Howard led the Magic with another 20-20 game, scoring 23 points and grabbing a whopping 22 rebounds on 9 out of 16 from the field. The only sad part for Howard is his free-throw percentage. He just managed to shoot 5 out of 12 shots from the charity stripe.

Rashard Lewis contributed 20 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Rafer Alston and Mickael Pietrus both scored 11 points, with Alston having 3 assists and Pietrus adding 3 rebounds. Hedo Turkoglu just scored seven points in this game, but his three-ball in the concluding moments of the game secured the Game 7 trip for his team to Boston.

Rajon Rondo led the Celtics with 19 points, along with 16 rebounds and 6 assists. Paul Pierce added 17 points, with 10 of those in the second half, plus 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Kendrick Perkins poured in a double-double of his own, scoring 15 points and adding 10 rebounds.

Ray Allen was the missing link for the Celtics. He missed all of his seven attempts from downtown, therefore scoring just five points on 2 out of 11 from the field.

Game 7 will be on Monday live from the Beantown.
