May 12, 2009 (Part 1); Another 1-2 finish for Brawn GP

Yes, there's a new team in town.

The Brawn GP team has been making waves upon renaming themselves. They were once known as the Honda Racing Team, but when they announced that they will withdraw from F1, out comes Richard Branson, bought the rights for the team, and renamed it as Brawn GP.

Different name, different attitude, and they indeed delivered.

They did it once again just last Sunday at the Spanish Grand Prix in Catalunya. Brawn GP drivers Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello finished in first and second place, respectively, with Button winning 4 out of his 5 starts.

Brawn GP now lead the standings by a large margin.

Six drivers weren't classified in this race due to accidents and car failures. They were Adrian Sutil of Force India, Sebastien Bourdais and Sebastien Buemi of STR-Ferrari, and Jarno Trulli of Toyota who were involved in an accident to start the race. Heikki Kovalainen of McLaren had a gearbox problem which led to his removal from the race at the 7th lap, while Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen had a hydraulics problem on the 17th lap of the race.
