April 24, 2009; Williams hits the dagger to beat the Lakers
Deron Williams is known as a good passer. But tonight, he showed that he's more than that.
He hit the game winner with 2 seconds left in the game with a fade-away jumper 15 feet away from the basket as they beat the Lakers, 88-86, as they reduced the series lead of the Lakers, 2 games to 1.
Carlos Boozer led the Jazz with 23 points and 22 rebounds, his 2nd 20-20 playoff game. Williams finished with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists.
Ronnie Brewer deserves a standing ovation because of the defense he provided to somehow stop the wrath of Kobe, up until Kobe's final shot at the end of the game. He puts up 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists.
Kyle Korver had 11 while Matt Harpring added 10 off the bench.
The Lakers on the other hand were led by Lamar Odom, coming up a double-double performance with 21 points and 14 rebounds off the bench.
Pau Gasol had 20 points and 9 rebounds while the current MVP Kobe Bryant finished with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists on a losing effort.
