April 22, 2009; Blazers tie series in a nailbiter

The Blazers and the Rockets are two teams that are evenly matched up in the West. And they proved it today.

They battle through four quarters with no team giving up. They were neck and neck until the final buzzer. Aaron Brooks of the Houston Rockets made 11 points in the last 27.9 seconds of the game, pretty much similar to what Tracy McGrady did a few years back when they came from being 11 points down to winning the ball game against the San Antonio Spurs.

But the Blazers hung on, made crucial free throws towards the end, and winning the ball game, 107-103, to even up the series at 1 game a piece.

Brandon Roy led the Blazers with an astounding performance. He scored 42 points and grabbed 7 rebounds, while his buddy LaMarcus Aldridge poured in a double-double performance, with 27 points and 12 rebounds. Spaniard Rudy Fernandez chipped in 11 points while Steve Blake had 10.

Aaron Brooks scored 23 points, 11 of those coming from the last 27.9 seconds of the game. He was backed up by Von Wafer with 21 points off the bench, Ron Artest's 19, Luis Scola's 12, Yao Ming's 11 and Kyle Lowry's 10 points.

Game 3 of the series will be on Saturday, April 25, at 9:30 AM from the Toyota Center in Houston.
