April 21, 2009; Allen's 3-ball ties the series for the Celtics!
The game was tied at 115 with 12.3 seconds left in regulation. Chicago calls for time. They made crucial substitutions. Kirk Hinrich replaced Brad Miller while Tyrus Thomas went in for Ben Gordon. While for the Celtics, 3-point specialist Eddie House went in for Kendrick Perkins.
The Celtics with the possession. The ball went to the hands of Rajon Rondo. And, with 3 seconds left, he made his 16th assist when he found his teammate Ray Allen who was dead on with the 3-ball, which won the game for the Celtics, 118-115, tying the series 1-1, before moving to Chicago for Game 3 on Friday.
All five starters for the Celtics scored in double figures, led by the hero of the game, Ray Allen with 30 huge points on 50% from the field. "Big Baby" Glen Davis pinched in 26 points. Rajon Rondo had a triple-double performance with 19 points, 12 rebounds and 16 assists. Paul Pierce had 18 while Kendrick Perkins added 16.
Ben Gordon had a big game with 42 points, 1 rebound and 1 steal on a losing effort. Four other Bull scored in double figures, led by John Salmons with 17, Brad Miller's 16, Joakim Noah's 13 and Derrick Rose's 10 points.
