July 5, 2008; Pacquiao did it! Wins 4th title in 4 weight divisions!
Our very own People's Champ, Manny Pacquiao, won his fight against David Diaz last Sunday to win the WBC Lightweight Championship. He won via a 9th round referee stoppage after a hook shook the foundations of Diaz, who laid flat on the canvas after that blow. The title is the fourth for the Pac-Man, who 3 titles before the current one (Flyweight, Super Bantamweight and Super Featherweight). His next fight will be somewhere around November, but his opponent is not yet sure, whether the WBA Super Featherweight Champion Erwin Valero or the IBF Light Welterweight Champion Ricky Hatton. Congrats Manny!
The Thomasian Welocome Walk for the freshmen was postponed yesterday to anothern date, which will be on Friday, July 11, 2008. And a concert will follow the festivities which will start at around 7:00 in the evening. The bands who will perform are Mithi, Chilitees and Urbandub. So there!
