June 8, 2008; Who said you can't handle "The Truth"?
Yes, "The Truth" was indeed handled. Our own Filipino-Italian mixed-martial artist Brandon Vera lost today in UFC 85: Bedlam from London, England to Brazilian Fabricio "Vai Kavalo" Werdum via TKO. During the last few moments of the fight, Werdum half-mounted Vera, then after some blows, the Brazilian controlled Vera via a full-mount. Then, the Jiu Jitsu fighter threw hard shots to Vera. And after 4:40 of the very 1st round, the referee stopped the fight, thuss declaring a TKO victory in favor of Werdum, much to the shiggrin of "The Truth". He contested that we protected himself while receiving the barrage of shots from Werdum, but the referee cannot reverse his decision, so that means that Vera now has a mixed-martial arts record of 8 wins with 2 losses, with those two coming consecutively.
Now here are the results of each and every fight from UFC 85: Bedlam from the 02 Arena in London, England!
