June 22, 2008; Quite FRANK-ly!
I suddenly woke up around 4:30 in the morning after I heard whistling sounds produced by the strong winds. It was so strong that it was able to cut down huge portions of the trees along the street! And even cutting off the electricity! The strong winds lasted for about 3 hours! I slept after about 10 minutes of being up, because I thought that it was so early! I woke up again, at around 8:30 a.m. I ate my breakfast then, listened to the radio for some info about the typhoon named Frank. Signal Number 3 was raised here in Metro Manila earlier today, up until 5 in the afternoon, where the storm signal was levelled down to the 2nd level.
Tomorrow, there will be no classes from elementary to high school level, according to the Department of Education. The Commission on Higher Education are the ones responsible for the suspension of classes for the tertiary level. So there! But in our case, the Secretary General of UST announced that there will be NO CLASSES in all levels tomorrow, as of 5 pm earlier.
Even the PBA games scheduled for today were cancelled due to the bad weather.
And by the way, the start of the 84th season of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) will be on June 28, Saturday, with the Mapua Institute of Technology Cardinals as the host. While the start of the 71st season of the University Athletics Association of the Philippines (UAAP) will be on July 5, Saturday, with the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons as the host, coinciding with their centennial anniversary.
What a day! Hope that tomorrow won't bring that kind of weather again, so that people won't get harmed. God bless you guys! Stay safe! Peace out! The Wizard was here...
