May 7, 2008; It's his time!
Kobe Bryant, the 11-year veteran from the Los Angeles Lakers, is the winner of the Maurice Podoloff trophy as the 2007-08 NBA Most Valuable Player, the NBA announced today. This marks Bryant's first ever regular season MVP award in his 11-year career. He edged out Chris Paul of the New Orleans Hornets for the award. He had a total of 1,105 points, from 126 sportcasters and braodcasters from the United States and Canada.
And now, the result of today's game for the 2008 NBA Playoffs!
It is Game 1 between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Boston Celtics. Wherein we saw the Celtics winning it at home, 76-72. Kevin Garnett led the Celtics with 28 points and 8 rebounds, while Rajon Rondo had 15 points and 5 rebounds. Meanwhile for the Cavs, Zydrunas Ilgauskas led with 22 points and 12 rebounds. LeBron James had a dismal performance with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. The Celtics now lead the series 1-0. Next game will still be at Boston on Friday.
