April 30, 2008; The Reds made it to the Finals!

It was the goal by Paul Scholls in the 14th minute that sealed the deal for the Mancheter United Football Team, as they beat the Barcelona FC to secure themselves a final slot at Moscow for the UEFA Champions League Final match, against the winner of the semifinal between Liverpool and Chelsea.

This week in American Idol, the top 5 contestants will sing the songs of Neil Diamond. So, it should be a wonderful show to catch! It will be shown later on at 6:00 pm on Star World and 6:30 pm on QTV Channel 11.

Yesterday, after resting for about an hour, me and my parents went to the SM HyperMarket to buy the groceries. I bought a pen and a planner at National for this coming school year, and for me to organize my time.

Now onto NBA news, Larry Brown, former coach of the Knicks, Pacers, Sixers, and Pistons is now the new head coach of the Charlotte Bobcats, the third coach in franchise history. announced just this morning. Brown, who is already a part of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, inducted in 2002, bring his 23 years of coaching to the Bobcats. Michael Jordan, the Bobcats' Managing Member of Basketball Operations said that Brown will be a big asset to the organization because he's one of the best.

Hornets' head coach Byron Scott was awarded the Red Auerbach trophy as the 2007-08 NBA Coach of the Year. Scott, on his fourth-season as the Hornets' head coach, brought them to the playoffs this season as the 2nd seed in the Western Conference. He received a total of 458 points, including 70 first-place votes. Celtics' head coach Doc Rivers came in second with 242 points and Rockets' head coach Rick Adelman came in third with 193 points. Scott is the first coach in Hornets' franchise history to receive the award.

Now, here's the continuing coverage of the 2008 NBA Playoffs.

First up, Game 5 between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Detroit Pistons. Wherein the Pistons won, 98-81, to lead the series, 3-2. The Pistons were led by Chauncey Billups with 21 points and 12 assists, while Rip Hamilton added 20 points. Meanwhile for the Sixers, Andre Iguodala led with 21 points and 6 assists. Game 6 will be played at Philadelphia on Friday.

Next is the series between the Dallas Mavericks and the New Orleans Hornets. The triple-double performance of Chris Paul made it sure that the Hornets moves on and eliminate the Mavs, 99-94. The Hornets are the 3rd team to moved on to the conference semfinal round. Chris Paul had 24 points, 15 assists and 11 rebounds for the Hornets while David West had 25 points and 7 rebounds. The Mavs, who are now out of the playoffs, were led by Dirk Nowitzki with 22 points and 13 rebounds. The Hornets won the series, 4-1.

Now, the fifth game of the series between the Utah Jazz and the Houston Rockets from the Toyota Center in Houston. Wherein the Rockets never gave up and won, 95-69, to force a Game 6 at Utah on Saturday. Tracy McGrady had 29 points and 5 rebounds for the Rockets while Luis Scola had 18 points and 12 rebounds. The Jazz on the other hand were led by Carlos Boozer with a double-double, 19 points and 10 rebounds. The Jazz still leads the series however, at 3-2.


And the last game of the night was between the Phoenix Suns and the San Antonio Spurs. Wherein the Spurs were the fourth team to advance by beating the Suns, 92-87, and winning the series, 4-1. Tony Parker had 31 points and 8 assists for the Spurs, while Tim Duncan was right there and added 29 for them. The Suns were led by Boris Diaw with 22 points and 8 rebounds on a losing effort, and thus, out from the playoffs. The Spurs will now face the New Orleans Hornets in the West Semifinals.
