April 23, 2008; Clinton wins Pennsylvania primary; The Celtics aren't done yet!

News just in. US Democratic Presidential candidate Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) won the Pennsylvania primary election against her arch-rival Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL). The win assured Clinton a chance to become the official Democratic candidate for the Elections on November. The overall winner of the primaries will face the official Republican candidate Sen. John McCain (R-AZ). The next primary election will be pitted tomorrow at the Hoosier state of Indiana.

Now onto NBA news. The New Orleans Hornets easily picked the win against the Dallas Mavericks, 127-103, to lead their series, 2-0. They were led by their MVP candidate Chris Paul who scored 32 points and dished out a new franchise-record 17 assists. All-Star forward David West added 27 points and 5 assists for the 2nd seeded Hornets. Dirk Nowitzki scored 27 points and had 5 rebounds in a losing effort for the Mavericks. The series will now shift to Dallas for Game 3.

Now to Orlando where the Magic escaped with a win against the visiting Raptors, 104-103, to lead their own series 2-0. The Magic has never been this dominating inside the paint since the Shaquille O'Neal era. All-Star center and Slam Dunk champion Dwight Howard had his 2nd straight 20-20 performance with 29 points and a massive 20 rebounds. Rashard Lewis contributed with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the Magic. Chris Bosh had a double-double performance with 29 points and 10 rebounds on a 1-point losing effort for the Raptors. The teams will now head up north to the Air Canada Centre in Toronto for Game 3.

And now, for the last game of the day, between the Phoenix Suns and the San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs lead the Suns, 101-96 in the 4th quarter. Raja Bell picks up his 4th foul, which means free throws for the Spurs. The Spurs made one. Then, they held on to win it, 102-96. They were led by the husband of Eva Longoria, Tony Parker, who scored 32 points, had 2 rebounds and had 7 assists. Manu Ginobili finished the game with 28 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists for the Spurs. The Suns on the other hand were led by Amare Stoudemire with 33 points and 7 rebounds. The series will now shift to Phoenix for their Game 3.

Tomorrow will pit 3 games for all of us NBA enthusiasts. First will be Game 2 between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Detroit Pistons, wherein the Sixers leads 1-0. It will be shown LIVE from the Palace of Auburn Hills in Auburn Hills, Michigan, 7:30 a.m. only on Basketball TV. Next will be Game 2 between the Atlanta Hawks and the Boston Celtics, 8:00 a.m. LIVE from the TD Banknorth Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. Then, the Game 2 between the Denver Nuggets and the LA Lakers which will be shown LIVE from the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, California, 10:30 a.m. only on C/S RPN.
