April 26, 2007; Continuing Coverage of the 2007 NBA Playoffs

Today showcased 3 Game 2's. First of which is from the West between the 6th seeded Denver Nuggets and the 3rd seeded San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs won with the score of 97-88. Manu Ginobili scored 17 points for the Spurs. Carmelo Anthony and Allen Iverson scored 26 and 20 points, respectively. The series is now tied at 1 game a piece and the series will shift to Denver for Games 3 and 4. Second of the triple-header is from the East between the 7th seeded Washington Wizards and the 2nd seeded Cleveland Cavaliers. Despite the late run made by the Wizards in the final quarter, Cavaliers held on to their lead and won, 109-102. The Cavs now lead the series 2 games to nil as the series shifts to the Verizon Center in Washington for Games 3 and 4. And the final game for today is from the West featuring the 8th seeded Golden State Warriors and the 1st seeded Dallas Mavericks. The Warriors led early on, but the Mavs came back and led by 2 during halftime. They never looked back and won the game, 112-99.

April 24, 2007; Proud Thomasian!

Yesterday was my enrollment for UST. Madaming ginawa, buti nalang wala mashadong tao nung time na yun. I already have my sked. Every Monday, my class is from 1-6 pm. For Tuesdays, 7-1 pm. For Wednesdays, 7 am- 6 pm. For Thursdays, 7-1 pm. And Fridays, from 9-6 pm. I'm excited to go to class! By the way, this is the updated playoff standings: For the West, (8) Golden State 1-0 (1) Dallas; (5) Houston 2-0 (4) Utah; (6) Denver 1-0 (3) San Antonio; and (2) Phoenix 1-0 (7) LA Lakers. And for the East: (1) Detroit 2-0 (8) Orlando; (5) Chicago 1-0 (4) Miami; (6) New Jersey 1-0 (3) Toronto; and (2) Cleveland 1-0 (7) Washington. Tomorrow, it will be Game 2's between Miami and Chicago, New Jersey and Toronto, and Phoenix and LA Lakers. The game which will be telecast live through Basketball TV will be New Jersey vs. Toronto, direct from the Air Canada Centre at 7:00 am, with the Nets leading the series 1 game to nil. And, just moments ago, Leandro Barbosa of the Phoenix Suns receive the 2006-2007 Sixth Man of the Year Award. Receiving the trophy with him is his head coach, Mike D'Antoni.

The regular season is finally over. The big dance is about to begin. With only the top 8 teams from the Western and Eastern Conference advancing for the right to compete in the Playoffs and for the chance to be called the 2007 NBA Champions. Here are the teams who advanced for the playoffs.

April 2, 2007; WrestleMania day!

I woke up early today, at around 6:30 am, because I watched the live screening of WWE WrestleMania 23 at SM Megamall Cinema 6 at 9:00 am. The moviehouse was jam-packed in the premiere and the deluxe sections. The event finished at around 12:40 in the afternoon. Here now are the match-by-match results of the grandest stage of them all, WrestleMania 23:

Dark Match: (Pre-WM match) Lumberjack Tag Team Match: Carlito and Ric Flair def. Chavo Guerrero and Gregory Helms.

WrestleMania Matches:
1. Mr. Kennedy defeated CM Punk, King Booker, Edge, Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, Finlay and Randy Orton in a Money in the Bank Ladder Match (19:10)
: Kennedy now has the chance to cash in the briefcase for a World title shot whenever he wants, wherever he wants.

2. The Great Khali defeated Kane (5:31)
: Khali delivered a two-handed chokeslam to Kane.

3. Chris Benoit defeated Montel Vontavious Porter (MVP) to retain the United States Championship (9:19)
: Benoit nailed the diving headbutt to MVP.

4. The Undertaker defeated Batista to win the new World Heavyweight Championship (15:47)
: The Undertaker tombstoned Batista en route to continue his WrestleMania undefeated streak at 15-0.

5. The ECW Originals (Sabu, RVD, Sandman and Tommy Dreamer) defeated The New Breed (Elijah Burke, Kevin Thorn, "The Alpha Male" Marcus Cor Von and Matt Striker) (6:26)
: RVD pinned Striker after the Five-Star Frog Splash

6. Bobby Lashley (w/ Donald Trump and Miss USA 2006 Tara Connor) defeated Umaga (w/ Mr. McMahon and Armando Alejandro Estrada) (w/ Stone Cold Steve Austin as the special guest referee) to win the Battle of the Billionaires Hair vs. Hair Match (25:52)
: Lashley pinned Umaga after a Stunner from Austin and a spear from Lashley.
: As part of the stipualtion, the losing billionaire gets his head shaved. Trump, Lashley and Austin together shaved McMahon bald.

7. Melina defeated Ashley to retain the WWE Women's Championship in a Lumberjill Match (3:14)
: Melina pinned Ashley after a Bridge Pin.
: After the match, all the lumberjills had a fight.
: The Lumberjills were Mickie James, Torrie Wilson, Victoria, Candice Michelle, Layla El, Kelly Kelly, Trinity, Brooke Adams, Michelle McCool, Kristal Marshall, Jillian Hall and Maria.

8. John Cena defeated Shawn Michaels to retain the WWE Championship (28:21)
: Cena forced HBK to submit with the STFU.
: Cena is now one of only two wrestlers who have retained the WWE Championship at two consecutive WrestleManias (22 and 23), along with Hulk Hogan (WrestleMania 2 and III).

Wrestlemania 23 clinched the second largest attendance for all Wrestlemanias with 80, 103 fans. And the said number is the new Ford Field record, breaking the record set during the Superbowl XL just last year. It really lived along it's tagline, All Grown Up.

Next year's WrestleMania, which is its 24th installment will be culminating at the Sunshine State of Florida right in the heart of Orlando, at the Citrus Bowl Stadium for WrestleMania 24.

April 1, 2007; Start of Vacation!

Once again, after 205 days of a grueling school year as a senior, its vacation once again! In June, I will be going to college na! Ang bilis grabe! Sa UST ako papasok! Saya! Proud Thomasian @ 400! Our graduation was held last March 29, 2007 at our Maria Montessori Hall. 303 students were annointed as graduates during the said date. Super daming tao dun sa gym! Bukas nga pala, is the date set for the greatest sports event in professional wrestling known as Wrestlemania, now on the 23rd year. There will be a live screening of the event at all SM cinemas, Ayala Malls, and Gateway Cineplex. There will be 8 matches on that event. One is the Battle of the Billionaires featuring Mr. McMahon's representative, the Intercontinental Champion Umaga, versus Donald Trump's representative, ECW's World Champion, Bobby Lashley. And lots more. 4 titles will be on the line at Wrestlemania. The WWE, World Heavyweight, United States and the Women's Championship. Wrestlemania 23 will be live 9 am tomorrow at the said cinemas for 300 pesos reserved or 200 guaranteed seating.
